It says that Mullen is "lobbying hard" for the job it says 🤔
Any truth to that if anyone knows?

So, $7M if he leaves before December 1st. $6M if he leaves after that December 1st 2025 date. This amount applies only to a P4 or NFL job. It's a million less if he goes to another P6 job.
 
I'd rather keep Mullen but, if he leaves he leaves and there is nothing we can do about it. No way we can pay more to keep him.

The rumor sucks just to hear it as we are going to Laramie for our first MWC game. I'm sure the players hear this as well.

Yeah, similar to how Odom was set to go to Purdue right before we played Boise in the MWC championship game last season. Even though it wasn't public knowledge yet, the players all knew the rumors, as well as the coaching staff, and it for sure affected their play that game.

I have similar vibes from the Kruger situation, he fended Oklahoma off until they reached a number we were never going to get. Both coaches (Mullen and Kruger) were building or built a massive home on a golf course and people assume they are planting the flag.

I don’t know if Arkansas is the best job for Mullen, there’s going to be a lot of SEC openings imo. Florida etc.

He did say in a press conference a few weeks ago that he would at least be around for next season. But money is money i guess.

Man, this sucks…but it is what it is. There was also an hour long UCLA podcast on Spotify that was all about them going after him. I didn’t have the stomach to listen.

I think if Mullen wanted to get back to a P4 HC spot, he could have done so before coming to UNLV. He understands how fickle the SEC can be when it comes to the fans and boosters. There is such a thing as choosing a job for the quality of life instead of chasing the almighty dollar. Just my take. I know nothing.

Mullen better take Guenther with him if he does indeed leave. At least do the Rebel fans a solid by doing that.
